Jean-Yves Péron, the slopes of Savoie
Jean-Yves Péron returned to Savoie in 2004 to work small plots on steep hillsides. Old vines and local grape varieties are central to the estate.
Learning before returning
He studied oenology in Bordeaux, then worked with Thierry Allemand and Bruno Schueller, among others, before making his first wines under his own name.
Mountain plots
Mondeuse, jacquère, altesse and roussanne grow in this fragmented vineyard. Organic farming and biodynamic practices are adapted to the steep slopes. Harvesting is by hand.
White wines with skin contact
Some white wines spend time with their skins. Ageing continues in old wood or amphora, without fining or filtration for the wines documented here.
The estate and its neighbours
Cotillon des Dames introduces Savoie jacquère. Wines made from purchased grapes, including the I Vicini range, extend the work to Italian varieties. Their origin remains distinct from the estate’s own vines.
