La Grapperie, Renaud Guettier’s old vines
Renaud Guettier works old chenin and pineau d’Aunis vines in Bueil-en-Touraine. La Grapperie developed around restoring these plots.
Taking over old vineyards
The project began in the mid-2000s. Restoring plots and keeping old vines played an important part in establishing the estate.
Vines through the seasons
Farming is organic. Copper and sulphur are used in the vineyard with plant preparations. Harvesting is by hand, and grape quality guides cellar work.
Ageing in old barrels
Fermentation takes place without added yeast. Wines spend extended periods ageing, depending on the lot. Old wooden vessels are used particularly for chenin and pineau d’Aunis.
Chenin and pineau d’Aunis as guides
Premières Tries, La Belle Égarée, Adonis and Pink B mark the range. Harvest dates, blends and ageing vary by wine, allowing the estate’s choices to be followed from vintage to vintage.
