Jorge Olivera, rediscovering the vines of Sobrarbe
Originally from Barbastro, Jorge Olivera became a grower in Coscojuela de Sobrarbe in Huesca, Aragon. He restores vineyards in this area near the Pyrenees.
From home winemaking to his first wines
He started making wine on a small scale before building a cellar with his father in 2021. The project gradually became a full-time activity.
Restoring plots
Finding vines and restoring abandoned plots accompanied his start. Harvesting is by hand. Varieties include garnacha, moristel, macabeo and syrah.
Work shaped by the harvest
Different varieties and grape origins produce separate lots. Blends and cellar decisions are specific to each wine, rather than one recipe for the whole estate.
Names in the selection
O Charraire, Negiro, Entremón and O Baile do Gurrión introduce different aspects of the project. Their details identify grapes and vintage, useful references in a vineyard still taking shape.
