Jean-Pierre Robinot, from a Paris wine bar to the Loir slopes
Before growing vines in the Sarthe, Jean-Pierre Robinot ran L’Ange Vin in Paris. In Chahaignes, he returned to the Loir slopes and their grape varieties.
Wine before the estate
The people he met at the wine bar preceded his return to the vines. Les Vignes de l’Ange Vin names the estate, while L’Opéra des Vins is his négociant activity.
Chenin and pineau d’Aunis
Chenin for white wines and pineau d’Aunis for reds are central to his work, connecting the wines to this part of the Loire’s growing history.
Letting fermentation unfold
Native yeasts lead fermentation. Ageing in old barrels may last a long time before bottling. The timing follows each wine’s development.
Names to follow over time
Concerto, Regard, Prélude and Lumière de Silex appear in the selection. Name, vintage and label distinguish origins and ageing, as well as estate-grown grapes from purchased fruit.
